Energy wholesaler AGL has announced it will suspend the development of the first stage of its 1,000 MW Dalton power station in New South Wales following an extensive viability investigation.

 

“The economic viability of this project had been under review for several months because of market conditions,” the company said in a brief statement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

 

The State and Federal approvals remain valid for the next five years.
