The Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency (DCCEE)  has called for input from stakeholders on the design options for the Energy Efficiency Information Grants Program.

The consultation period will assist the DCCEE in forming the structure of the $40 million program that will provide grants over four years to industry associations and non-profit organisations.

These grants will help industry associations and non-profit organisations deliver information about the impacts of a carbon price on small and medium enterprises and community organisations and suggest practical steps to manage these impacts.

The public consultation will serve to build a detailed design of the program. In addition to the consultation paper released on this website in early November 2011, DCCEE will also engage with potential grant applicants during November and December 2011.

Applications for the first round of grant funding are expected to be sought in the first quarter of 2012. Grants are expected to range from $100,000 to $1 million.

The DCCEE has released a consultation paper and will be accepting stakeholders submissions until 6 December.
