Regional Safety Advisor - Midwest
Through an empowered and contemporary ‘hands on’ approach, provide advice, support and coaching to the business in the application and maintenance of the Safety & Health Management System, along with relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice, to support and embed a strong Safety and Health culture in the regions.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
Your new role will:
- Drive positive change in safety and health culture throughout the Midwest region by supporting safety leadership to empower and enable positive safety behaviors across the workforce.
- Support the delivery of our critical risk program which focuses on Horizon Power’s 8 critical risks and monitor the implementation of our critical risk’s controls and their effectiveness.
- Partner with the business as a subject matter expert to provide advice, training, consultation and monitoring of our safety management system, policies and procedures, safety reporting, and incident and hazard management including correct actions.
- Support Investigations including Incident Causation Analysis Method (ICAM) as required, ensuring investigations are completed in a timely manner to identify contributing factors and that appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Support the Health & Wellbeing Specialist to champion and implement Health & Wellbeing initiatives in the regions.
You will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent is mandatory, or relevant equivalent work experience in Safety & Health.
- Demonstrated knowledge of statutory and on statutory legislation associated with the management of workplace safety
- Demonstrated stakeholder management across a diverse stakeholder group the knowledge to effectively manage conflict and influence favourable outcomes
- Hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
- Demonstrated implementation and maintenance of safety management systems
