The Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) is the custodian of knowledge and data on the Territory’s geology and resources, and undertakes activities to support and grow the minerals and petroleum exploration industry. This includes Resourcing the Territory a $9.5 million ongoing program providing pre- competitive geoscience, investment attraction and exploration stimulus programs designed to increase exploration activity and success rates.

NTGS seeks a dedicated Project Geologist - Grants and Promotion to join our Engagement and Advice team. In this dynamic role, you’ll apply your industry knowledge, organisational skills, and communication abilities to administer the Government’s exploration grants program and promote the NT’s resource potential to industry and investors. Your role will support geoscience-based data and insights to help drive growth in the Territory’s resource sector.

Key responsibilities include assisting with administering the Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations (GDC) program. This includes coordinating applications,the assessment process, contracts, reporting, and industry engagement in accordance with grant guidelines and policies. You’ll also play a vital role in a small team promoting NTGS activities, maintaining the geoscience initiative website, coordinating events, providing advice to industry and producing technical materials that showcase NT’s resource opportunities. This position is ideal for a collaborative geologist with demonstrated organisational and communications skills, and a passion for developing the resources sector.
